Cooking Mama and Madcatz component cable for cheap at Amazon

Amazon has had some odd "Deal of the Day" sales lately, and today's deal (a Wii Madcatz component cable) is no exception. If you're in need of a component cable for your Wii, though, it might be worth getting. While many of you are often hesitant to buy non-Nintendo accessories, the customer reviews for this cable are overwhelmingly positive. Also, at today's deal price of $10, the cable is almost $20 less than the Nintendo brand one.

Also of note is that Cooking Mama for the Wii is on sale at Amazon for $30. We know what you're thinking: "Wasn't Cooking Mama always $30?" The answer is no, but it should have been. The game is being sold through Target, however, which means you can't take advantage of Amazon's sweet free shipping. We're also not sure how long this deal will last, so if you're interested, we recommend jumping on it as soon as possible.

Release dates surface for Mad Catz equipment

The crew at Engadget have got a scoop on when exactly these Wii-based peripherals will release. The "Wand Remote Controller" and "Funchuk Controller" from Mad Catz are, according to Amazon UK, releasing on September 28th and June 29th, for a price of £24.99 ($49 US) and £19.99 ($39 US), respectively. Amazon UK is promising the "Funchuk Controller" for a cheaper price at £8.99 ($18 US), allowing thrifty shoppers to save a couple of bucks.

Of course, for these price, maybe it's just best for consumers to purchase the official Nintendo products locally, or import them, right? Do you plan on getting yourself these third-party Mad Catz products later this year?

Wii Warm Up: Bring on the 3rd party Wiimotes

The rumor about Mad Catz Wiimotes isn't exactly the most reliable bit of gossip we've heard all year, but it does raise an interesting topic. Would you buy a third party Wii remote? Certainly the lack of regular Wiimotes on store shelves is a problem, but does that balance against the general quality of most (not all) third party peripherals? Is the price a factor? Wiimote and nunchuk sets are somewhat expensive, but is it worth saving a few bucks to wave something like this around? We're trying not to make any many jokes about the wavy shape here, but they're lurking in the tall grass. So what's the verdict on this rumored remote? We want to hear what you think!
