It is estimated over 600 fans showed up to A-Kon 2008 dressed in video game attire, easily besting the previous "record" of 80 Marios. Characters from all walks of Nintendo life were found at A-Kon, and we've gathered a few of the best to check out after the break. Cosplay done right looks rad.

Send in the cosplayers
Cosplayers are perpetual purveyors of entertainment. Die-hard fans never miss a chance to dress up, while some fans would rather die. Some do it so well that everyone becomes a fan, if only for a moment. Anyone grossly offended by the glory of cosplay should look away now (we're kidding, keep reading), as we present the new Guiness World Record for "Most Video Game Costumes in One Place."

Rumor: Nintendo still hurt about RE4, reason why Capcom doesn't have a Brawler
There's a rumor floating around that the lack of a playable character from Camp Capcom is due to a little game by the name of Resident Evil 4. You see, before it ended up on the PC and PS2, along with the Wii, it was meant to be entirely a GameCube exclusive. That didn't last that long, however. With the inclusion of Sega's Sonic and Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Solid line of games, the inclusion of one of Capcom's characters (oh, let's say ... Mega Man) quite possibly would've been too much for this blogger's weak little heart. The rest of the world, however, probably would've liked to see one of Capcom's characters make it into the already overstuffed line-up of playable brawlers.
What Capcom character would you have liked to see in Brawl?
Dojo update: Gray Fox enters the fray
There's a tasty double serving of updates today on the dojo, but the lowdown on Brawl's "Grab and Throw" manoeuver is likely to be overshadowed by the inclusion of a second Metal Gear Solid character.
The good news is it's not Raiden (we fear the internets would implode with fanboy vitriol), but Frank Jaeger, a.k.a cyborg ninja Gray Fox, a.k.a That Dude Who Engages In A Totally Badass Battle With Metal Gear REX Only To Get Heroically Stomped. The bad news: he's not playable, but merely an Assist Trophy. Nevertheless, a pretty cool addition.
Wii Warm Up: Gaming the Cube
You know how the Wii can, like, play those old games? Not the Virtual Console, but the ones that come on little discs? Game Cubes or something? We were giving some very serious thought to playing Phantasy Star Episode III C.A.R.D. Revolution last night, for some reason, and decided to informally survey our commenter friends about your GameCube-playing habits-- mostly because it allowed us to mention our weird occasional habit of playing PSO Episode III, and reference Gleaming the Cube, we admit.
Do you still play GameCube games now and then? Do you still have the original hardware, or has your Twin Snakes experience migrated to the Wii? If you're new to Nintendo consoles, or just skipped the Cube, have you picked up any of its games since you got the Wii?
