The strangest thing about this Hanabi Festival video, found on the Dutch Nintendo Channel, is seeing Nintendo promoting the Virtual Console at all. Nintendo of America grudgingly allows the bare minimum of content to be released to the (apparently) hated service, and would never dream of going so far as to have a special event like the Hanabi Festival or talk about it outside of that one press release every Monday morning.
The trailer features video footage of all of the games in the latest Hanabi Festival, from the celebrated (Super Mario RPG) to the ... celebrated for some reason (Spelunker). We may have most of these particular games, but we want our own Hanabi Festival!

A second Mario Super Sluggersvideo has hit the Nintendo Channel today, proving that Nintendo does mention the game ... occasionally. Good thing, since if they're going to promote the game at all, now would be the time! Other new(ish) videos include the official Helix trailer, designed to entice WiiWare fans into shaking along with a skeletal, metallic homunculus, and ... a Defend Your Castlevideo? Can't forget about "classic" WiiWare, we suppose. Here's the full list of new, very slowly streaming videos:
This week, there's plenty of new videos to watch on the Nintendo Channel. Above, you'll see a pretty lengthy video on how to play the upcoming Mario Super Sluggers. We apologize for the audio, but the guy really does talk that low. It was hard to get the audio as clear as it is.
For a breakdown on what's in store for you this week on the Nintendo Channel, head past the break.
This week's videos have some choice snippets that you should watch. For those of you who got a kick out of last week's Madden 09 All-Play videos, there are some more of those up for grabs. The best of the best has to be what we embedded above, though. After you're done watching that, head on past the break for the full list.
We're excited about Madden NFL 09. Oh no, sports on a game blog, run! But, in all seriousness, this year's Madden NFL 09 looks like it's going to be a solid title and unique from the other versions available. Plus, the All-Play stuff looks fun. If the video up top tickles your fancy, then the one past the break is going to blow you away.
Also, check out the latest video updates to the Nintendo Channel tucked away back there as well.
This week's video updates had a pretty interesting inclusion. The above video follows a mom and how much she loves that DS game, Brain Age 2. Along with this video, there are a bunch of other things you might want to watch. Head past the break for the full list.
Another Monday means more videos on the Nintendo Channel, and is there anything worth watching? Well, not really. We did appreciate the Hell's Kitchen Info Video, though, if only so that we could mock it. Who knows how the game will actually play, as a Cooking Mama with actual recipes might be kind of fun. (Even if this video doesn't make it look fun.) But what's the point of using the Hell's Kitchen license if Chef Ramsey isn't going to be his total cad self?
They definitely toned down Ramsey's personality for the game, or at least it appears that way from this trailer. Spouting lines like, "Not good so far," and, "I need you to really -- seriously -- up your game," are laughable coming from the chef's mouth. "Don't even touch another thing in this kitchen" is the worst it gets, apparently. Wow, color us scared.

This week brings plenty of videos for you to watch on the Everyone's Nintendo Channel. From a look at how All-Play works in Tiger Woods 09, right down to another video of Alyson with Wii Fit. So, check out the list below, situated in handy bullet-point form:
While we do love all different kinds of trailers and videos to spaz up our normally dull internet lives, we really appreciate when we come away with something useful after watching one. That's why we love developer's diaries, especially ones that involve the beloved Square Enix, and especially when said Squeenix game is WiiWare's My Life as a King.
With the exception of the almost monotonous voice-over work, we found the video and the tidbits of info offered interesting. Note, though, that we're still a little bitter about the "content updates," which is the developers' euphemism for "Square Enix maiming our wallets for stuff that should have been included in the first place."
Nothing else too special hit the video channel, aside from some previews of upcoming games. Here's the full list, though, for you to judge:

A new video of "Get Wii Fit with Alyson" was added to the Nintendo Channel, this time featuring the dancer and friends trying out the yoga exercises. If you think watching someone else do yoga might be exciting, you'd be wrong. The most entertaining part is when Alyson says about the virtual male trainer, "I think I'll call it Brad. You're rad, Brad." Ironically, that's also that part that made us start sobbing, wondering when it would end.
You can also watch "info" videos that promote Alone in the Dark, Order Up!, Magnetica Twist, and a number of other games. The highlight for us was watching Wall-Ebeing adorable in the Wall-E TV Spot, but that's not to say it made us want to buy the Wii title. It did make us want to go and see Wall-E, though.
Here's the full list of the new videos on the Nintendo Channel, for you to check out at your leisure:

The most noteworthy new video added to the Nintendo Channel this week is the first installment of the new longform Wii Fit ad/exercise program "Get Wii Fit with Alyson." In this introductory video, a group of young Disney Channel-ready actors looks on as Alyson undergoes her first Wii Fit Body Test. If you've yet to pick up Wii Fit and would like to see it judging people, watch this. A new edition of "Get Fit with Alyson" is also available on the website.
Other new videos include promos for Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Rock Band, footage of today's WiiWare game, and a bit about the new controls in NCAA Football '09. Step onto the Balance Board, do a stretch or two, and enjoy the videos on the Nintendo Channel!

Ever since the Nintendo Channel was released, we felt the videos on offer did a good job of promoting whichever product was the focal point of any specific video. Whether it's just a video explaining the Balance Board or something else, it's a good way for Nintendo to keep the public informed on what's coming down the pipes for Wii.
Has the Nintendo Channel ever sold you on something, though? Have you ever watched a video on there, only to immediately crave the title in question? Has the Nintendo Channel sold you on any games yet? If so, which games and why?
Have you ever recommended a game on the Nintendo Channel? If so, you'll know that you have to answer a series of inquiries about the title. Whether the game is more "casual" or "hardcore," for example, is one of the burning questions your Wii will ask you regarding the software you wish to rate.
While such arbitrary categorizing is useless for the most part, Nintendo has compiled the data into some nifty pie charts. This way, you'll know exactly how hardcore and manly the game you're playing is. You can also find some interesting usage data about each game. For example, did you know that Wii Sports has been played for over twenty-four million hours? Now that's a lot of Wii Sports.
As far as we know, this accounts for only North American data, and even lessening that scope, only people who've agreed to share their information (remember that disclaimer you said "yes" or "no" to after downloading the channel?). With that said, such usage statistics can't be considered accurate.
Now that we've given you a caveat, go ahead and check out the stats to your little heart's content. To view them, just click on the information for the game you're curious about and scroll down until you find the pertinent information.

The Nintendo Channel has received its weekly infusion of new videos. Sure, the weekly updates usually feature more videos than this, and the Samba de Amigo trailer is actually one we've already seen, but there's interesting new stuff contained within. Especially if you want to see what Block Breaker Deluxe looks like without having to buy the thing.
Aside from the WiiWare videos, this week's update is entirely musical. The aforementioned Samba de Amigotrailer is still enjoyable, and two other trailers focus on upcoming Guitar Hero games: the new DS iteration and the Aerosmith version.
When a video detailing the technology inside the Balance Board hit the Japanese Nintendo Channel early this year, we envied the ability to see original behind-the-scenes content on the Wii. Now, a mere five months later, the video is available on the North American channel, dubbed into English. It's also available right here, in this very post!
Other new videos include trailers for this week's WiiWarereleases, video of Super Swing Golf Season 2 and SNK Arcade Classics, and a lot of DS content -- more "I Play for Me" videos featuring America Ferrera, and the excellent English Bangai-O Spirits trailer. Watch it if you haven't yet! The full list of videos follows the break.
