Virtually Free: Mega Man 9

What is this? Could we be doing what you think we're doing? Oh yeah, baby, we totally are. We're giving one lucky Wii Fanboy reader a free copy of Capcom's retro-revival, Mega Man 9 ($10). It's too good of a game to keep to ourselves, so we reached deep down into the Wii Fanboy coffers (it's just a coffee can under our bed, but you get the idea) and sprung for enough points to gift the game out. How do you enter for your chance at the game?

To enter, just leave a comment here (with a valid e-mail address!) and tell us what your favorite Mega Man boxart is (hit up the gallery below if you missed this). There's a catch, though. You must be a current and legal resident of the United States with an American Wii (sorry, Canadians, we have to leave you out of this one; blame the gifting system and not us!) and 18 years of age or older. You may enter once per day between now and Sunday, September 28th at 11:59pm ET. The contest comes to a close that night and we'll select a winner via random drawing the next day. Questions? Check out the official rules.

Reminder: Throw down with Cooking Mama

Well, obviously Majesco wants everyone to get on the Cooking Mama train (we hear that's how they make that money), but this weekend, as you'll recall, they're offering New Yorkers a chance to get in the game in style. To promote the release of Cooking Mama: Cook Off, Majesco is calling all Iron Chef-wannabes out to show their stuff -- and win free swag. If you're going to be anywhere near the Nintendo World Store this Saturday between 11 and 4, drop by, if only to sample the goodies the on-site chef will be preparing. Now that's incentive.

To our readers in the area: we'd love to see your pictures if you attend. We may even post them and make you an interweb celebrity for a whole five minutes.

MySpace video contest: How Wii Play [Update 2]

How could this happen to meeee?Nintendo appears to be reaching out to the emo youth demographic, as a new video contest has emerged on the mega-popular MySpace website. A large social networking tool for creepy internet stalkers students and adults alike, MySpace is visited by hundreds of thousands of people every day...a good place to advertise, yeah?

The contest, entitled "How Wii Play", is simple enough: create a video showing how you might use the Wiimote in your various everyday endeavors. The prize? Eight DS Lites for those hilarious enough to win the judges' hearts. You must have a MySpace account to enter, and you'll be graded on humor, originality, and creativity. Feel free to send your submissions to us as well; if we like them, we'll post them on the main page for our readers to enjoy.

[Update 1: Since strikethrough humor has gone the way of knock-knock jokes, we have reduced the count by exactly one.]

[Update 2: We should note that it appears Nintendo themselves are not the official sponsors of this contest. MySpace just loves Nintendo, we guess.]
