Sim City Creator features fun and then some

It's not exactly a simulation if you're facing off against giant fire-breathing dinosaurs, now is it? That's just one of the deadly, deadly disasters you'll encounter while constructing your digital empire in Sim City Creator for the Wii. Okay, it may not be a simulation of plausible events in a real city, but will it be a simulation of fun? Pffft. Everything is fun with dinosaurs.

Taking a look at the above scan from the latest Famitsu, we can see a couple of normal-looking areas, as well as a crazy neon crystal metropolis. In fact, a whole range of building designs will be available in a bunch of styles, including Futuristic, Crystal, Jungle, Las Vegas, Mediterranean, Traditional Japanese and even Cake -- apparently buildings inspired by your favorite baked goods. Sounds delish.

Adopting a MySims visual style, Sim City Creator's modes include Free Play, Mission, Collection (unlockable stuff -- hopefully cookies and pies to build a library), Memorial Album (happy snaps from Free Play) and City Making Contest. This mode lets you upload your created cities via Nintendo Wi-Fi and have various other would-be architects rank and review your work. Nice one!

Sim City Creator is set for a September release in Japan. Keep those dinosaurs and UFOs at bay until then, and hit the Source link to check out the full scans.

Destroy All Humans trailer takes inspiration from MST3K

Update: Looks like we had a mix-up with the videos. They were both the same. Sorry for the mix-up.

And there is nothing wrong with that at all. But, you may be wondering exactly what this game is, as our coverage has been around slim to none. Well, we apologize about that, but it seems that every Nintendo fanboy and fangirl is waiting on some other game. But, that shouldn't discourage you from checking out Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed, which looks to be another solid installment in the quirky sandbox franchise. Big on humor and messing with humans, we're sure the latest title will be as good as previous installments in the franchise.

For a look at the game's controls, head on past the break.

Anyone looking forward to picking this up?

Friday Video: Destroyer of oil

The No More Heroes site just keeps churning out the (very short) videos, and we gobble 'em up with the same zeal every time. In fact, it's probably safe to say that this is one of the games we're anticipating most -- right up there with Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy. That's tough company to roll with, but we think Travis can handle it ... and so we've once again got him in our video spotlight. Hit the jump to see why.

TGS07: No More Heroes says yes to more videos

Now that we know that one of our favorite games has a publisher outside of Japan, we undertook the watching of the latest footage from TGS with a particular zeal. While neither offers sound, we do get a glimpse of the controls and a long, lovely look at the game in motion, which puts all the short clips offered by the official site to shame. Before, we were excited; now a new word will have to be created to communicate the passion with which we approach tSuda 51's offbeat No More Heroes. If anyone has any linguistic suggestions, please let us know. In the meantime, hit up the videos after the break.

Grand Theft Potter

No, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is not really going to feature murder and robbery. That's just a bit of fun sensationalism from your responsible journalist friends at Wii Fanboy.

We're really invoking the GTA name because EA UK's new game is going to feature the sandbox-style gameplay made famous by Rockstar's series. Mission triggers will be hidden all over, and you are free to explore and take on side missions. This means that you'll potentially have more choice to explore Hogwarts and the surrounding areas than Harry Potter ever did, as he seems to get railroaded from situation to situation without any choice at all. Uh, not that we ever read ... or saw ... any Harry Potter stuff. Oh, never mind-- we're all about children's books. That's right.

Also, one of the most obvious Wiimote uses ever has been implemented: Wiimote as wand. Wiimote gestures will allow you to cast spells and manipulate levitated objects. No word on any microphone stuff, though.
