Activision brings out the celebs for World Tour advertising

When we were flipping around the channels and caught our first glimpse at the above Guitar Hero: World Tour commercial, we cringed at just how bad the whole thing was. With Kobe's terrible lip-syncing and A-Rod's inability to look like he has any rhythm, the whole thing came off as very forced to us. Kobe has probably never even heard of Bob Seger.

Past the break, you'll find the newest Guitar Hero: World Tour ad, which features Heidi Klum. What do supermodels do when playing Guitar Hero: World Tour? Apparently, they strip then have an epileptic seizure on the couch.

Rumor: Activision making their own peripheral for next Tony Hawk

According to the latest issue of EGM, the next Tony Hawk title might not be utilizing the Balance Board after all. Instead, Activision has supposedly been thinking about putting out their own peripheral to interact with the game, bundling it with the upcoming title.

Something that boggles our mind is the mentioning that Neversoft would not be developing the next Tony Hawk game. Considering that Neversoft produced a long-standing series from scratch and sustained it for many iterations, we'd be hard-pressed to think that Activision would take them off of the franchise. But, hey, that's just us.

Many games are using Nintendo's Balance Board, including rival skateboarding franchise Skate It from EA. Do you want to know more about Nintendo's peripheral? Watch this instructional video and be sure to check out our own Mike Sylvester's fun with it in his Revolutionary feature series.

Activision plans Wii sequels for its franchises

Wii owners can expect some new Activision games to hit their consoles in the not-so-distant future. To state the obvious first, a new Guitar Hero game (possibly two) will find its way to the Wii and other consoles by the end of Activision's next fiscal year (which ends in April 2009).

You may be even more excited to know, however, that the next Call of Duty installment will also end up on the Wii (among other platforms). This is good news, since Call of Duty 4 skipped over the little white console. Don't get too excited, though -- this doesn't necessarily mean that the next game will be Call of Duty 5.

We also wouldn't be surprised if Activision's other two sequels (one for Tony Hawk and one for Marvel: Ultimate Alliance) hit Wiis. The company promises innovation with it's next Tony Hawk game, which piques our interest for the title a bit. Does this mean the game will make use of the Wii Balance Board, or does Activision have another trick up its sleeve?
