More Dragon Ball Z on the Wii; TV show continues to be old

Even though the series started in Japan back in 1989, and ended in 1996, the tie-in games just keep on coming for Dragon Ball Z. Atari has announced Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the Wii and PS2. Like the previous installment on Wii, this is part of the Dragon Ball Z Sparking series in Japan and is developed by Spike.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 will include improved Wii controls and over 150 playable characters, which is a lot of big-haired dudes and blonde versions of those same big-haired dudes. The stages will include day/night versions, which opens up a transformation ability for many characters. There's a teaser animation on the Japanese website, but no screens or anything yet.

New screens from Treasure Island Z and Devil Kings 2

Famitsu got their hands on some great screens from two upcoming Capcom games: the colorful pirate adventure Treasure Island Z and the upgraded Playstation 2 port Devil Kings 2. We have good news and ... miscellaneous news for both.

First, the good news: Devil Kings 2 looks like a hybrid of Dynasty Warriors and Devil May Cry, with cool characters and over-the-top stylish moves. Treasure Island Z's screens show off the interface, which involves-- could it be?-- a hand-shaped cursor interacting with objects on screen! Pointing and clicking, as it were!

Now for the other news: for some reason, one of the playable characters in Devil Kings 2 looks like a samurai version of Ultraman, and we haven't decided how we feel about that. And in Treasure Island Z, the character has some kind of stylized Wiimote item in-game. That's kind of a cheap way to be immersive, isn't it? Avast! More Treasure Island Z scans spotted

A NeoGAFfer and frequent Wii Fanboy tipster named creamsugar posted these new, higher-quality scans of Capcom's Treasure Island Z, and later in the thread Xboxyde's Blimblim cleaned up the images, which we have provided for you. After a careful inspection, we must say, that if we were excited about the game yesterday, today we are in full hype hype hype mode! We're ready to start freaking out about this game without really knowing anything about it!

The graphics look so great (and we aren't going to assume that it's because of Blimblim's filter)-- finally, next-generation cel shading is here! And the art style and general piracy motif reminds us of one of the best Capcom games ever, the Mega Man Legends spinoff The Misadventures of Tron Bonne. Please, Capcom, let it be like Tron Bonne.

DBZ hitting Wii in November

Submitted to Go Nintendo, a Japanese scan shows that Dragonball Z Tenkaichi 2 will be releasing for the Wii this November. This estimated release date is obviously for the Japanese gaming world and does not apply to us lowly gamers outside of the Mecca of gaming that the nation is, so we'll have to wait a tad bit longer.

No other information can be taken from the scan, other than the knowledge that someone apparently did not enjoy the figurines, choosing to angrily place a giant X across a majority of the scan. The magazine in which this scan comes from is also a mystery at this time.

DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2 scans

Now, I'm no DBZ expert, but I did have my "phase." As such, I always loved the DBZ movie Tree of Might. I don't know what it is about that independent feature that rocked my world so much, but to this day if it is on, I'll watch it.

So imagine my delight in seeing some new scans confirming the inclusion of none other than Turles, the antagonist in Tree of Might. The scans also show the inclusion of other characters, but I honestly have no clue who they are and what movies and/or series they come from.

An official press release describes our recent post about a new DBZ game coming to the Revolution. Officially dubbed Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2, the game is set for release later this year during the holidays and features a roster of over 100 fighters, 15 different environments, and over 9 game modes. In regards toward the control scheme of the Revolution's remote, nothing more is said beyond that the player will be able to use it to reenact some of the series' more noteworthy moves such as Goku's Kamehameha. Keep an eye on E3 for more information on this upcoming title.

Dragon Ball Z coming to Revolution

Shonen Jump magazine recently ran news of Bandai's first Revolution offering being none other than a Dragon Ball Z title. Not much else is said about the game, but we're fairly certain there'll be a significant number of individuals with over-grown, over-bleached, over-radioactive hair. There is also surely going to be a lot of grunting, powerful auras of concentrated energy, and a fight or two.
