Zero Punctuation reviews fanboys

Were you one of the easily offended, outraged souls who took umbrage with Zero Punctuation's more-than-scathing review of Super Smash Bros. Brawl? If so, then Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw has some feedback to your feedback. That's right: rather than dedicating this week's Zero Punctuation to the usual misanthropic, ranting reviews that we love so much, Yahtzee has answered the numerous critics of his Brawl review, which attracted over a thousand comments on the Escapist's site (and quite a few on here).

Hit the break for the full, NSFW version, and prepare yourself for a chilling insight into the minds of the most irrational fanboys.

Zero Punctuation has zero tolerance for Brawl

Oh dear. This isn't going to be pretty. We're going to hazard a guess that Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw's opinion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl doesn't exactly coincide with the view taken by most of our readers -- frankly, it sounds like he hated every minute of Nintendo's scrapper.

But before you start punching out that hate-filled, trembling-with-rage email to the man, stop right there and hear him out, because you may just find yourself agreeing with some of his points -- even we had to concede that a number of his grievances have bugged us in the past. With that in mind, take some deep breaths and head past the break for one of the most venomous Zero Punctuation reviews to date, and the usual dose of NSFW language.

Zero Punctuation shines the spotlight on No More Heroes

Wii Fanboy favorite No More Heroes is the focus of this week's Zero Punctuation, and it actually gets off fairly easily compared to the roasting received by most games. In between describing Suda 51 as "the 51st result of an illegal Japanese cloning experiment to create the world's most auteur game designer" and fretting over what the game is satirizing and what it isn't, Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw admits he enjoyed playing as Travis Touchdown, and eventually praises Grasshopper's game for its "unpredictable story and quirky aesthetics."

Finally, as if we didn't already admire the man enough, he reveals his deep-seated love of Branston Pickle. Way to make us forgive every mean thing you ever said about our favorite games, Yahtzee. Hit the break for the full, NSFW review.

Zero Punctuation tackles Zack & Wiki

You may know Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw first and foremost as the man behind Zero Punctuation, but he's also dabbled a bit in game developing. Many of the works he poured his blood, sweat and tears into happen to be adventure games; that's why you might be especially interested to see his take on Zack & Wiki, a game that's captured the hearts of Wii gamers (or, the hearts of the few of us that bought it, at least).

There are many things that Yahtzee liked about the game (pretty much the "adventure" parts). Yet, he wasn't too keen on the use of waggle or the inclusion of character deaths, which he calls an adventure game cardinal sin. That pretty much sums up the meat of Yahtzee's ramblings -- minus the funnies, of course.

Yahtzee's NSFW video review of Zim & Spaki Zack & Wiki is posted after the break for your viewing pleasure, folks.

Super Yahtzee Galaxy

Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw has turned his attentions to Nintendo's flagship product for 2007 (no, not Wii Play, the other one), posting a review of Super Mario Galaxy. Longtime fans of Zero Punctuation may be surprised to hear that he likes the game. He described how he started off with bad memories of Super Mario Sunshine and therefore didn't expect much, but found himself getting completely into Galaxy.

Of course, he likes the game in the angriest, most openly mocking way possible, but that's his way. Aside from a major quibble about the controls (after opining that the game would have been better with a GameCube pad, he astutely suggests that the game "denigrates the very console it's trying to sell), Mario Galaxy comes out as an overall positive experience, seeming to redeem "the lurching atrocity that is Nintendo's main franchise." Even if it does retread the Peach kidnapping.

As usual, this review is not safe for work. Your work: this is not safe for it. It's embedded after the break for your protection.

Zero Punctuation takes on Guitar Hero III

Love him or hate him, Yahtzee always seems to invoke some sort of emotion with his crudely worded, flash animation reviews. This week, he tackles Guitar Hero III, and guess what? He hates it. It seems that Activision just can't get any love today.

Watch him bash the game and defend his heterosexuality in the NSFW video after the break.

'Zero Punctuation' covers Super Paper Mario, gives us lulz

If you've been around the internets, you might have heard of a fellow named Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw. If not, we can assure you that you're missing out.

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of experiencing Mr. Croshaw, let us explain. Every week he does a video game review for The Escapist aptly titled "Zero Punctuation," since he never seems to take a breath between words and sentences.

So, why did we wait so long to bring this joy to you? Well, because "Yahtzee" did his first review of a Wii game, huzzah! That's right, folks, we bring to you a "Yahtzee" review of Super Paper Mario. Even when he's being downright mean (er, all the time), we have to love him because he makes us laugh in the process.

Now that we've built up this video so much that it won't meet your expectations (oops), watch away! But fair warning: Mr. Croshaw's potty mouth and vulgarities make this video slightly NSFW.
